My question is this: I used to pray Tahajjud (the night prayer) regularly, but it has now been a month since I last prayed it. I watched a video by Maulana Ishaq in which he stated that when a believer stops praying Tahajjud, it is due to their sins.
When I discussed this with some people, they suggested that if you miss it for just a day or two, it might just be laziness; however, if it stops entirely, it could be a specific sin that is depriving you of the Tofeeq (the divine ability/blessing) to perform it.

Sometimes, when you are unable to perform a good deed consistently, it feels as though Allah has abandoned you. However, it can also be that you are simply occupied with a different act of worship. For instance, I used to always read the Quran after Fajr, but now that I wake up for Tahajjud class, I find I am unable to read the Quran after Fajr.
Tahajjud is a voluntary (Nafil) prayer. If you cannot offer it right now, that is okay; focus instead on perfecting your obligatory prayers and ensuring they are offered beautifully. It is the missing of obligatory prayers that is a matter of serious concern. Fulfill your Faraid (obligatory acts), pray your Sunnah, seek forgiveness (Istighfar), and recite the Tasbih Yunus. Ask Allah to grant you the Tofeeq (divine ability) to worship Him with ease.
May Allah create ease for you. Ameen.
