DWQA QuestionsSeeking Consistency, Spiritual Growth, and Emotional Healing
Dr. Asiya Staff asked 2 weeks ago
I want to memorize the Quran (Hifz), but whenever I start, I manage to complete one or two chapters (Paras), and then obstacles begin to arise. These hurdles are so significant that it takes me months to start again. What can I do to turn this into a consistent habit? How can I strengthen my faith (Iman)? How should I ask Allah? How should I work on myself so that I can both memorize and understand the Quran? Additionally, how can I eliminate my anger? I try to keep my heart clean, but I often suffer consequences because of my temper. I struggle with constant negativity, overthinking, getting hurt by small things, aggression, and anger... How can I gain control over all of these emotions?

You want to memorize the Quran (Hifz), but whenever you start, obstacles begin to arise after a month or two. Then, it takes months to start again. No one has ever been able to complete Hifz entirely on their own, and I believe doing it online isn't feasible either—unless your willpower is incredibly strong. You should enroll in an institute, and when memorizing, you should use a Quran with translation. If a person reads and memorizes the Quran with understanding, it provides a great deal of encouragement and motivation.
