DWQA QuestionsIstikhara Interpretation Regarding Career Change
Dr. Asiya Staff asked 1 week ago

Ma'am Asia, my name is Maria. I am 23 years old and the youngest of five siblings. I got engaged two and a half years ago. My fiancé is a constable in the FC (Frontier Corps). He faces many difficulties in this job and is not at peace, either mentally or physically. Recently, he sent me a message asking me to perform Istikhara for him because he wants to quit this job.

I performed Istikhara for seven nights. On the first night, I saw a dream that I was in an examination hall with a little girl. The girl wanted to stay with me. The teachers there were initially putting the girl aside, but then they started helping me with my paper; they were trying to make sure I finished my exam quickly.

Two nights later, I had a second dream where I was in a garden. My entire family was left behind, and I was moving ahead. As I moved forward, the garden became even more beautiful. I found another young girl walking with me. While we were walking, there was a man standing there who was the watchman of the garden. I said to the girl with me that we would come back to this garden when he is not here. She replied that he would not be there on Sunday. When I woke up from this dream, it was actually Sunday.

On the final night of the Istikhara, I saw that I picked up a packet from a box at home. My sister told me that our brother brought it and they are grape seeds. When I opened the packet into a bowl, the black seeds turned into green grapes. A few seeds remained as they were, and some turned into grape stems with leaves. I then started planting them in the ground.

I have seen these three dreams and have no idea what they mean. Whenever I recited the Istikhara prayer, I would also pray: 'O Allah, if there is no goodness or well-being for him in this work, then by Your grace, remove him from it; and if there is goodness in it, then grant blessings in it. Surely, You have power over all things. Please reform our affairs, Ameen.' Ma'am, I have shared all the details with you. Please, kindly guide me and tell me the interpretation of these dreams.

This dream was seen by a daughter named Maria, who is 23 years old and the youngest of five siblings. She is engaged to a man who is currently serving as a constable but is dissatisfied with his work; he wishes to change his job and asked her to perform Istikhara. While the dreams appear positive, here is the guidance for her:

Interpretation and Advice

Positive Signs with Caution: The dreams are generally good, but there is still some underlying confusion within them. Therefore, it is advisable for the daughter (Maria) to continue her Istikhara for a bit longer to gain clearer heart-felt satisfaction.

The Fiancé's Responsibility: The outcome of Istikhara also depends heavily on the individual's own actions and intentions. It is highly recommended that the fiancé himself prays his five daily prayers punctually and performs his own Istikhara as well. Direct seeking from Allah is always more impactful for the person involved.

Relationship Status: There are no issues or negative signs regarding the engagement itself.

Character of the Girl: Maria is a righteous girl who is steadfast in her prayers and fasting. May Allah Almighty continue to grant her the tawfeeq (ability) to do good deeds and keep her protected from all evils. Ameen.
