DWQA QuestionsRuling on Irregular Bleeding for Prayers and Fasting
Dr. Asiya Staff asked 1 week ago
It appears that your month-long course of antibiotics has disrupted your hormonal balance, causing irregular bleeding. In Islamic jurisprudence, it is essential to distinguish between Hayd (menstrual period) and Istihadah (chronic/irregular bleeding) to determine your religious obligations.

Your monthly cycle has been disturbed. You should consult a gynecologist and see what she advises. If she confirms this is indeed your menstruation cycle, then you should proceed accordingly, as cycles can often become disrupted. Ask the doctor specifically if this is due to an infection or an organic (internal) problem; if not, then it is simply your period. You should follow the pattern of your cycle, even though the timing is not always fixed and can shift earlier or later. Please consult Dr. Hadia, as she will be able to guide you further, Insha'Allah.
