I’m engaged to someone I’ve loved since my teenage years. He is honest and caring but has little religious inclination and is involved in music and dance. How should I cope with the engagement, given my growing religiosity?

• Encourage positive change, but recognize personal responsibility in spiritual matters.
• Pray the dua from Surah Al-Furqan:
“رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا”
• Remember: marriage is a partnership, and guidance from Allah is key. Your intention and effort matter; seek Allah’s help in fostering religious harmony in the household.
