Can a husband have the right to stop his wife from her favorite hobby if the hobby is not against Islam? If the wife says no, is she disobeying her husband, since the Quran says a wife should obey her husband?

This is a nuanced question. If a hobby is not against Islam, it is not necessary that the husband has absolute right to forbid it. The key is understanding the dynamics:
1. Why does he dislike the hobby? Perhaps it affects the balance of home life or impacts the marital relationship.
2. It’s rarely black-and-white; most situations are grey. Obedience in Islam does not mean the wife must give up all personal interests unnecessarily.
