Introduction
As I was preparing for the Self-Connectivity course, at Hikayatna’s insistent urging, I began to feel these states. Just like an observer, I too started observing an “Asiya Madani.” This led to the following revelations… and I finally understood the meaning of:
“Create your own world if you are among the living.”
Especially this blessed Hadith became a guiding light for me:
“Be indifferent to the world, and Allah will love you.
Be indifferent to what people have, and people will love you.”
(Tirmidhi)
This was the point where I began to view dopamine in an entirely new way — as the zest for life.
The Biggest Revelation
All the struggle we put in to achieve a position — if we happen to attain it — the desire to maintain it becomes a prison for us.
We become its captives.
We become afraid of change.
However…
The secret to long and sustainable happiness lies in continuously making new plans and striving to fulfill them. It lies in generating your own dopamine.
The Secret to Happiness: The Dopamine You Create Yourself
Have you ever felt like the remote control of your happiness is in someone else’s hands?
A loving message arrives, and your day brightens.
Good news comes, and your mood rises from floor to sky.
But when those external stimuli fade…
A strange emptiness appears.
A silent restlessness.
A quiet numbness.
This feeling is the silent story of our brain’s “happiness molecule” — dopamine.
Dopamine: A Friend or a Foe?
Dopamine is not actually a happiness molecule; it is a “desire and seeking” molecule. It is the chemical messenger that whispers:
“Look here! Something good is coming!”
When you get instant dopamine hits from external sources — notifications, likes, messages, purchases — it works like a loan.
You get a thrilling boost,
But the brain responds by reducing dopamine receptors.
The result?
- Ordinary tasks no longer bring joy
- Motivation fades
- Happiness becomes dependent on the next “hit”
You begin to wait for the next spark that someone or something else must give you.
But there is a healthier path.
And its secret lies within you.
Solution: Take Responsibility for Your Own Happiness
When you decide that your calm, peaceful joy does not depend on external sources but on your own actions…
You finally become the driver of your life.
You learn to create dopamine for yourself that is:
- Sustainable
- Stable
- Crash-free
- Rooted in self-awareness
- Strengthening your confidence
This self-generated dopamine is not a loan —
it is earned.
It is nourishing.
It is empowering.
Conclusion
Joy is not found in the world outside — it is architected within.
When you detach from dependency, cultivate awareness, and build habits that generate inner dopamine, you construct a world where peace is self-made and happiness is self-owned.
This is the true Architecture of Joy.
